The Park City Miners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 64-46 fall against Green Canyon. While losing is never fun, Park City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Green Canyon is ranked 11th).
Park City's loss came despite strong showings from Michael Zagin and Luke Rice. Zagin scored 12 points along with four steals, while Rice scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cedric Donovan, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Green Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jared Anderson, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Crane, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Park City has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Green Canyon, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Park City will head out on the road to take on Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stansbury is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Green Canyon will take on Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeline is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.6 points per game.
