The Fort Calhoun Pioneers can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They really took it to Nebraska City for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-19 victory at home. The win was some much needed relief for Fort Calhoun as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Fort Calhoun got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Raeann Massey out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Elofson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Nebraska City still got an impressive performance from Tarryn Godsey, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks. Godsey has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 14 times she's played.
Fort Calhoun's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Nebraska City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Fort Calhoun will look to defend their home court on Friday against Raymond Central at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Fort Calhoun is ranked 95th, while Raymond Central is ranked 86th). Nebraska City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
