The Overland Trailblazers won the last time they faced the Cherry Creek Bruins, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Overland managed a 57-51 win over Cherry Creek.
Overland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tj Manuel, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymani Eason, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Cherry Creek lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alex Condon. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Condon scored 15 or more points. Jonathan Lyons was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Overland's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Cherry Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Overland will head out on the road to take on Grandview at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grandview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Overland is ranked 26th). As for Cherry Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eaglecrest is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 67.2 points per game.
