Basketball Recap: South Guilford Homeschool Extends Winning Streak to Seven

South Guilford HomeSchool had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions 67-13. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 21 points or more this season.

South Guilford HomeSchool got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kassidy Bullins out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Bullins has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kourtney Bullins, who posted 15 points along with four steals and four blocks.

South Guilford HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 33 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

South Guilford HomeSchool pushed their record up to 26-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38 points. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars face off against the Winston Salem Christian Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they will host Chatham HomeSchool at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
