Lake Minneola has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Edgewater Eagles at TBD on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
In what's become a running theme this season, Lake Minneola gave their fans yet another huge victory last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lakeland 73-18 at home. While fans of Lake Minneola might be used to big wins, the 55-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Lake Minneola got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Saunders out in front who scored 19 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Patricia Casimir, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Edgewater can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 70-43 victory over Celebration. The win was just what Edgewater needed coming off of a 68-37 defeat in their prior game.
Lake Minneola's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Edgewater, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Lake Minneola couldn't quite finish off the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 55-53. Can Lake Minneola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
