Aldretti Made His Presence Known in Walsenburg's 46-0 Win
Starting off the list is Walsenburg's Giovanni Aldretti, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Aldretti rushed for 287 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.9 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.
For the season, Aldretti has averaged 17.3 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 68.14 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 200.71 rushing yards.

Anthony Sandoval Dazzles in Hoehne Victory
Anthony Sandoval's big game helped extend Hoehne's winning streak to three on Friday. Fowler had no answer to Sandoval as he rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Sandoval's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 147 rushing yards.
Sandoval is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Custer County on Saturday. Sandoval rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries the last time he and the Bobcats duked it out back in October of 2023.

Taylor Torres Makes It Two for Walsenburg
The second Walsenburg player making an appearance here is Taylor Torres, and for good reason. He picked up 54 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 20 total tackles and defending a pass.
For the year, Torres has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 72.3 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.

Jake Magninat Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Hoehne got the W thanks in part to Jake Magninat playing the best football he has all season. Magninat rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 119 yards while completing 75% of his passes.
This season, Magninat has averaged 80.9 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had five rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to eight.
