Viewmont is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Olympus a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Tuesday, Viewmont didn't have quite enough to beat Alta and fell 3-2.
Viewmont took Alta into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 26-28, 20-25, 15-9.
Meanwhile, Olympus came up short against Bountiful last Friday and fell 3-1. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Redhawks 25-21 in the first set.
Olympus started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-23.
Viewmont will need to focus on slowing down Kimari Matsuura, one of several Olympus players who made an impact when they last played. She had 24 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Senia Benson, who had nine digs and four aces.
Olympus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Viewmont, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
