The Beggs Demons will head out on the road to face off against the Sperry Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Beggs is ranked 122nd, while Sperry is ranked 100th).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Beggs, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 16-2 loss to Morris. Beggs has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Sperry never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed by Okmulgee on the road to the tune of 30-0. Considering Sperry has won three matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Sperry found their leader in underclassman Landen Brooks, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Beggs has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Sperry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Beggs lost to Sperry on the road by a decisive 35-18 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Beggs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
