It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Avenal Buccaneers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 50-45 W over Dos Palos. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Avenal also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Dos Palos had strong showings from Jacquez Jones, who scored 15 points, and Sixto Ibarra, who scored 11 points.
Avenal's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Dos Palos, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avenal will face off against Coalinga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dos Palos' road trip will continue as they head out to face Firebaugh at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
