The Lake Minneola Hawks lost against the Jones Fightin' Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Lake Minneola fell to Jones 56-51. Lake Minneola has struggled against Jones recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alvin Colbert, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Colbert has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daishaun Davis, who scored 12 points.
Jones got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keishaun Robinson out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Robinson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Buckley, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Lake Minneola now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Jones, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.
Lake Minneola won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. East Ridge is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Jones, they will be playing at home against Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boone is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.4 points per game.
