Portageville is 0-10 against Charleston since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Portageville Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Charleston Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Portageville made easy work of Kelly and carried off a 73-50 win.
Meanwhile, Charleston had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Ballard Memorial by a score of 77-68 on Monday.
Charleston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ko'terrion Owens out in front who scored 18 points along with six assists and three steals. Owen Willis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Portageville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Charleston, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
Portageville took a serious blow against Charleston in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 92-52. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Portageville was down 52-19.
