Kaycee Duncan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Eastern Montgomery came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Fighting Blues. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.
Sam Brein and Rena Chandler did most of the damage at the plate: Brein went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Chandler went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Hall, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Eastern Montgomery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests.
Eastern Montgomery pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Narrows, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Narrows has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eastern Montgomery struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Narrows might still be hurting after the 22-3 loss they got from Eastern Montgomery in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Green Waves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
