The contest between Cumberland and Nottoway wasn't particularly close, with Cumberland falling 55-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cumberland has scored all season.
Nottoway's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anton Carter Jr., who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. Carter Jr. has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Geter, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Cumberland now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Nottoway, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season.
Cumberland will head out on the road to square off against Fuqua at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
