Even though Kohelet Yeshiva scored an imposing 56 points on Sunday, the Maimonides M-Cats still came out on top. Maimonides secured a 62-56 W over Kohelet Yeshiva. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maimonides.
Kohelet Yeshiva's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Benjamini, who scored 22 points. The contest was Benjamini's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Izzy Weiner, who scored 14 points.
Maimonides pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Maimonides will head out on the road to face off against Fenway at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Martin Luther King at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
