The Woodcreek Timberwolves had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Grant by a score of 67-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Woodcreek found their leader in underclassman Max VanLaningham, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 blocks. The game was VanLaningham's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Triplet, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Woodcreek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Woodcreek and Cordova will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cordova knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Woodcreek likes a good challenge. Grant and Burbank will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
