In what's become a running theme this season, the Odyssey Charter School Titans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They put the hurt on Pineapple Cove Classical Academy with a sharp 62-41 win. The score was close at the half, but Odyssey Charter School pulled away in the second half with 42 points.
Leading Odyssey Charter School to victory were Jevenson Antoine and Malik Brown. Antoine dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Brown dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Antoine is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games he's played. Jamale Long was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Barna, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Bender, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Odyssey Charter School racked up 13 assists.
Odyssey Charter School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-12.
Odyssey Charter School will head out on the road to take on Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Master's Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they will be playing at home against Naples Classical at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Naples Classical is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.8 points per game.
