After a string of five wins, the Kenesaw Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Pleasanton. Kenesaw was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pleasanton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Kenesaw lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Ryan, who scored 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ryan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Wagoner, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Kenesaw's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Pleasanton, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenesaw will take on Elm Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Elm Creek will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Pleasanton, they will head out on the road to take on Amherst at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Amherst presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pleasanton in Nebraska (Amherst is ranked sixth, while Pleasanton is ranked 217th).
