Lamar is 2-8 against Hannah-Pamplico since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lamar Silver Foxes will head out on the road to square off against the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Lamar is hoping to put an end to a 19-game streak of away losses.
Lamar suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Green Sea Floyds by a score of 49-47.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alvion Ward, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xavier "Zoom" Jackson, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Hannah-Pamplico was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 41-36 to Lake View. It was the first time this season that Hannah-Pamplico let down their fans at home.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Hannah-Pamplico, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Lamar was able to grind out a solid win over Hannah-Pamplico in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 40-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lamar since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
