The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lehigh, who took down 274th ranked Lehigh, 48-42. Trey Daniels threw for 290 yards and ran for 29 yards in the win.
Estero extended the longest winning streak in 5A District 11 this week by beating Mariner, 48-35. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Rashaan Gaymon was the best wideout in the league this week as Cape Coral topped the Lightning. Gaymon racked up 10 receptions for 118 yards. Kyle Fischl helped Cape Coral's passing attack out by catching three balls for 93 yards.
Eric Russaw was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 172 yards as the Tritons topped Lehigh. Jhshod Thornton also contributed to the rushing game with 73 yards on the ground.
Christian Phillips put up the best numbers through the air as Estero defeated Mariner. He finished with a total of 16 completions for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Phillips' favorite target this week was Nick Nataro, who caught five passes for 91 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Phillips and Eric McFadden Rich Dombroski's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Phillips leads the league in passing with 1469 yards, while McFadden has rushed for 1198 yards this season. Cape Coral's Gaymon leads the league in receiving yards with 525 on 38 catches.
A big matchup in 5A District 11 this week will be when Larry Gary's team takes on East Lee County. At the moment, the Seahawks are in third, while the Jaguars are in second.
Cape Coral moved up to 313 from 339 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Seahawks were able to make move up by defeating Nathan Sund's team 48-42.
