After flying high against the Seguin Cougars on Thursday, the Richland Royals came back down to earth. Richland was the victim of a rough 63-40 loss at the hands of Keller on Friday. It was the first time this season that Richland let down their fans at home.
Richland's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Allison Holman, who scored 6 points along with 5 steals. Holman hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Richland has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Keller, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland will take on Timber Creek at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Timber Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Richland in Texas (Timber Creek is ranked 417th, while Richland is ranked 875th). Keller won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Braswell at 3:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Braswell is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
