Vision hasn't had much luck against Nampa Christian recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Vision will venture away from home to square off against Nampa Christian at 5:00 p.m. Vision has given up an average of 18.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Vision is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Melba on Monday. They lost 15-1 to the Mustangs.
Meanwhile, Nampa Christian made easy work of Marsing on Monday and carried off a 13-1 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Peyton Shook was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ashlynn Swank was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Addison Gray was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Nampa Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Vision, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Vision has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Nampa Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Vision might still be hurting after the 31-14 loss they got from Nampa Christian in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Vision avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
