Surrattsville is 1-9 against the Eagles since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Surrattsville Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Douglass Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Surrattsville humbled the Sea Turtles with a 73-26 victory. That looming 73-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Surrattsville yet this season.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Douglass had to settle for a 61-58 loss against the Pumas on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Douglass has scored all season.
The victory got Surrattsville back to even at 8-8. As for Douglass, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Things could have been worse for Surrattsville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 80-63 loss to the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Surrattsville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
