The Atrisco Heritage Academy Jaguars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. Their tough 34-14 defeat to Volcano Vista might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Atrisco Heritage Academy in their matchups with Volcano Vista: they've now lost nine in a row.
Atrisco Heritage Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Landon Griego, who threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns.
Alijah (A-Train) Gonzales was on fire for Volcano Vista: he rushed for 217 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Ilijah Hansen, who threw for 141 yards and four touchdowns.
Atrisco Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Volcano Vista, their victory was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-3.
