The Potter-Dix Coyotes struggled with assists on Saturday (the South Platte Blue Knights had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Potter-Dix had to suffer through a rough 61-15 loss at the hands of South Platte. Potter-Dix has not had much luck with South Platte recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Madison Williamson was Potter-Dix's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Micayla McConnell held things down on the boards with six rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Madison Cheleen was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five assists and three steals for South Platte. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Reichman, who scored 14 points.
Potter-Dix bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.5 points per game. As for South Platte, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Potter-Dix will be playing at home against Kimball on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Kimball is ranked 231st, while Potter-Dix is ranked 212th). As for South Platte, they will take on Wilcox-Hildreth at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wilcox-Hildreth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
