It was a good run, but the Santee Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by St. Mary 88-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Santee has suffered yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Mary's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Hedstrom, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ben Barlow, who scored 21 points along with three steals.
Santee's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for St. Mary's, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Santee will head out on the road to square off against Marty Indian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Marty Indian is ranked 112th in South Dakota, while Santee is ranked 127th in Nebraska). As for St. Mary's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Winside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Winside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Friday.
