The Zion Chapel Rebels have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 55-46 to Highland Home on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Zion Chapel in their matchups with Highland Home: they've now lost eight in a row.
Zion Chapel lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Slade Grantham, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Grantham's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sawyer, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Zion Chapel's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 14-6. As for Highland Home, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zion Chapel will take on Goshen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Goshen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 426th, while Zion Chapel is ranked 161st). Highland Home won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Luverne at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th.
