The Stuart W. Cramer Storm will head out on the road to challenge the North Gaston Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Stuart W. Cramer turned things around against Palisades on Wednesday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Pumas.
Addie Payseur was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Dani Tejada, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Payseur wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Stuart W. Cramer lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, North Gaston entered their tilt with Ashbrook on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Greenwave a 13-0 shutout. Give the Wildcats' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Parker Gordon made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, North Gaston got a massive performance out of Maddie Carpenter, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Carpenter a new career-high. Layla Love was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
Stuart W. Cramer's record now sits at 3-9. As for North Gaston, their record is now 6-8.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Stuart W. Cramer has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .490. However, it's not like North Gaston struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Stuart W. Cramer might still be hurting after the 20-7 loss they got from North Gaston in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
