The West Jordan Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the West Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
West Jordan is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 48-20 win over Hillcrest. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won four matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
West Jordan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nia Ioapo out in front who picked up 109 receiving yards and two TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Ioapo showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 65 yards. Cody Johnson was in the mix too, providing West Jordan with two touchdowns.
West Jordan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
West Jordan's defense stepped up as well, laying out K'Von Houston nine times. Leading the way was Paula Havea with three sacks.
Meanwhile, West blew past Taylorsville, posting a 70-6 win. The Panthers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout on Friday was the sixth game they've won by 20+ points this season.
West Jordan better keep an eye on Louie Hamilton. He was instrumental in West's win, rushing for 177 yards and five scores on only seven carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Hamilton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamden Lopati, who threw for 206 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes.
Special teams played a big role in the game for West, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Lester Falatea, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
West Jordan's record is now 5-2. As for West, their record now sits at 6-1.
West Jordan was dealt a bruising 45-0 defeat at the hands of West when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for the Jaguars, Isaiah Su'esu'e (who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 117 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
