Basketball Recap: Fullerton Comes Up Short

Fullerton lost against Tustin two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Fullerton Indians had to suffer through a 63-33 loss at the hands of the Tustin Tillers. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Tillers are ranked 213th).

Jadon Reed and Jad Mustafa certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Reed went 8 for 9 on his way to 18 points, while Mustafa posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Reed a new career-high in points.

Fullerton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Tustin, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-6.

Fullerton will welcome Costa Mesa at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Fullerton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Tustin, they are taking a road trip to challenge Godinez Fundamental at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Tustin has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three matches.
