After two games on the road, Leon is heading back home. They will take on The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Two Fridays ago, Leon and Groveton were almost perfectly matched up, but Leon suffered an agonizing 14-13 loss.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brock Bumpurs, who threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Corrigan-Camden, as they earned their first road win of the season. Everything went their way against Normangee on Friday as Corrigan-Camden made off with a 38-14 win.
Michael Sullivan had an outrageously good game as he threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Sowder, who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Leon's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Groveton, Lovelady, and Dawson. As for Corrigan-Camden, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 2-4.
Leon was taken down by Corrigan-Camden 56-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Leon have more luck at home instead of on the road?
