Bluefield scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They were outmatched by the Winter Haven Blue Devils and fell 99-64. The loss leaves the Beavers without a win on the season.

Winter Haven was led to victory by Troy Boswell Jr and Gavin Hall. Boswell Jr went 17 for 24 on his way to 40 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists, while Hall went 10 of 19 en route to 26 points along with eight assists and eight boards. The matchup was Boswell Jr's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Phillips, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and six assists.

Bluefield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Winter Haven, they moved to 2-7 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Bluefield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Graham at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Winter Haven, they will take on Notre Dame in a tournament on Friday.
