Evan Tianello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eli Lefort, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Kielbasa, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill came up short against New Hartford on Thursday and fell 12-7. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Jake Cenname made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Anthony Chieco, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
The victory got Chittenango back to even at 3-3. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
