Softball Recap: Prairie Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Prairie extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 7-4. They never let the Heritage Timberwolves get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Mackenzie Moore made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Prairie let Kylie Moore and Payton Miller run wild. Moore went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Miller went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Miller has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Emersyn Blunt, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Prairie lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

As for Heritage, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Heritage's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaila Ellis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prairie will head out to take on Battle Ground at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Heritage, they will venture away from home to face off against Camas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Timberwolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Papermakers have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
