The Northwest Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Quince Orchard, falling 60-22. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Northwest of the 65-33 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Quince Orchard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evelyn Steele, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Steele hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Bridget Vandegrift was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Northwest bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Quince Orchard, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Northwest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Damascus on Tuesday. As for Quince Orchard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rockville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Rockville is ranked 184th, while Quince Orchard is ranked 173rd).
