Fremd came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Hoffman Estates Hawks 2-1. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks on Tuesday, too.

Fremd had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Hoffman Estates lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tervel Jordanov, who had 16 assists and three digs. Another player making a difference was Spencer Cruz, who had ten digs.

Fremd's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-9. As for Hoffman Estates, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Coming up, Fremd will square off against Glenbard South at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hoffman Estates, they will take on Saint Viator at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Lions have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
