The Minto Lakers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Redington by a score of 58-45. Given Minto's advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Redington is ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Minto's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeff Frank, who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Andrew David, who scored 16 points.
Minto pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.27 points. As for Redington, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Minto's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chugiak at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Chugiak is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Redington won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tok at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Tok focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
