Unioto is 8-2 against Piketon since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Shermans will be playing at home against the Redstreaks at 5:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, Unioto got the win against Paint Valley by a conclusive 9-3.
Macie Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Eisel, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Mackenzie Welch was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Unioto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Piketon came out on top against Southeastern on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run seventh inning. The Redstreaks blew past the Panthers 18-5. The victory was nothing new for the Redstreaks as they're now sitting on five straight.
Piketon got a massive performance out of Jaylin Forbes, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and five runs. Forbes has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Blakeman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.
Unioto's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Piketon, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Unioto hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .413. However, it's not like Piketon struggles in that department as they've averaged .414. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
