There's no place like home for Lake Placid, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Discovery Spartans with a sharp 55-30 victory on Friday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lake Placid found their leader in sophomore Damarcus Brown, who rushed for 231 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. Brown showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was August Stivender, who threw for 106 yards and one touchdown on only six passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lake Placid proved: they limited Discovery to a paltry -1.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least four total tackles, Fredrick McKnight stood above the rest. He picked up 3.5 sacks and made four total tackles. Lake Placid didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.5.

Lake Placid's defense didn't let Cooper Wyas., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, McKnight was the leader with 3.5 sacks. Lake Placid received some extra help from Darrius Jones, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

When it comes to explaining why Discovery lost, don't look at Trey Wilbanks. Despite the final result, he picked up 97 receiving yards and one score. Jyrine Hazelton also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

The victory got Lake Placid back to even at 1-1. As for Discovery, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lake Placid didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against Tenoroc on the 12th. As for Discovery, they have also already played their next match, a 50-22 loss against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic on the 12th.
