Hackleburg extended the longest winning streak in 1A Region 8 this week by beating Colbert Heights, 34-32. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Phillips made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,345 from 12,724. The improvement came about via a 58-44 victory over Phil Campbell last week.
The Bears' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rodney Camp threw for 263 and three touchdowns and Austin Mitchell had 90 yards receiving. On the ground Camp chipped in 218 yards. Jonathan Long helped Phillips' passing attack out by catching six balls for 86 yards.
Phillips' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Camp has thrown for 1306 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Tyler Crumpton has 32 catches for 720 yards. Camp also leads the league in rushing with 694 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Decatur Heritage Christian Academy takes on Shoals Christian. At the moment, the Eagles are in sixth, while the Flame are in second.
Phillips led 1A Region 8 in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on the Bobcats. Camp in the win.
