Hobgood Charter is 0-3 against Columbia since November of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hobgood Charter Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Columbia Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Hobgood Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hobgood Charter beat Mattamuskeet 49-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hobgood Charter.
Hobgood Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Roberson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Roberson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Zyhe Higgs, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Columbia was beaten by Ocracoke 62-26 on Friday. Columbia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hobgood Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Hobgood Charter lost to Columbia on the road by a decisive 68-53 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Hobgood Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
