Rancho Bernardo found their leader in sophomore Gavin Valencia, who made 17 total tackles. Gaige Weddle also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Although La Serna took the loss, they still got scores from Zeb Bontemps and Brennan Meyring.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
