Chopticon has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.33 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 14-3 to the La Plata Warriors. The Braves' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Maverick Trueman and Kody Adkins stepped up to the plate in a big way. Trueman went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Adkins went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Chopticon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for La Plata, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Chopticon is set to face off against their familiar foe Huntingtown on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Braves 3.3, the Hurricanes 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, La Plata will challenge rival St. Charles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Warriors' favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. Charles have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
