Flanagan hasn't had much luck against Cypress Bay recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Flanagan Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Cypress Bay Lightning at 6:00 p.m. Flanagan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
Flanagan was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Miramar on Wednesday. Flanagan blew past Miramar 19-4. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Jurnee Bent made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Emily Arias was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Amy Chacko, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Cypress Bay can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out South Plantation 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lightning have posted since February 27, 2024.
Like Flanagan, Cypress Bay also got a great game from a two-way player: Lexi Groenendijk. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits were Groenendijk's first of the season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allena Dinneen, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Teresa Foschia was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Cypress Bay's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Flanagan, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Cypress Bay's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Flanagan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. It's a different story for Cypress Bay, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Flanagan's hitters?
