When it comes to explaining why First Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logan James. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. Warren Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, First Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Jaden Drake, who shot 4-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds for Appling Christian Academy. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Drake has scored at least 25% of Appling Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Xzayvier Anderson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
First Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Appling Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
First Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Heritage Christian Academy. Appling Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lighthouse Christian at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th.
