Corbin has gone a perfect 10-0 against Williamsburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Redhounds will square off against the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Corbin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Corbin was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Estill County on Saturday. The Redhounds put the hurt on the Engineers with a sharp 10-2 win. Corbin's victory was all the more impressive since the Engineers were averaging only 3.87 runs allowed on the season.

Will Freeman tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Corbin let Kade Elam and Cam Estep run wild. Elam went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Estep got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Corbin is 4-2 when Estep posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-7 otherwise. Trey Person also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Corbin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barbourville. Even if the Yellow Jackets couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Kelly Wells was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Jones, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Corbin now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Williamsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Williamsburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Corbin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Williamsburg, though, as they've only averaged .153. Will they be able to contain Corbin's hitters?
Corbin took their victory against Williamsburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Do the Redhounds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellow Jackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
