Baseball Recap: Albert Gallatin Gets the Win

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Albert Gallatin and Laurel Highlands have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Colonials came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 8-4. The Colonials haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Michael Dunham and Jason Myers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Dunham tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Myers tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Dunham went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Myers scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That run was Myers' first of the season.

In other batting news, Kanyon Sutton was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Matt Malinsky was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Albert Gallatin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laurel Highlands struck out seven times.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-6-1. As for Laurel Highlands, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albert Gallatin will square off against Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurel Highlands, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hopewell at 4:00 p.m.
