Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goldsboro). Everything went their way against the Princeton Bulldogs on Friday as the Goldsboro Cougars made off with an 85-62 victory. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Garrett Lane, who went 8 of 14 from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points. The dominant performance gave Lane a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Cole Woodall, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Goldsboro and bumps their season record up to 7-8. As for Princeton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldsboro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kinston at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Kinston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Princeton has already played their next game (against Spring Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
