The Kennard-Dale Rams will take on the Trinity Shamrocks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Kennard-Dale needed a bit of extra time to put away Penn Manor. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Comets, sneaking past 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Taryn Ashenfelter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Argiro, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Kennard-Dale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Penn Manor only managed seven hits.
Trinity never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Delone Catholic last Monday. Everything went their way against the Squires as they made off with a 14-4 victory. The Shamrocks haven't had any issues with the Squires recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Landry Murray tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Taylor Lawrence was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Zea Sullivan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Trinity's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Kennard-Dale, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
