Chase Abla made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
In other batting news, Whitmore Lake got a massive performance out of James Burns, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The Trojans are undefeated when Burns posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Donovan Fox, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Whitmore Lake's record is now 9-13. As for Hope Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
