Owyhee has gone 8-1 against Eagle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Storm will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Owyhee comes in on 12 and Eagle on three.
Owyhee's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Kuna.
The result came thanks to Hailey Brennan's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 18 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Owyhee's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Schab, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one double. That double was Schab's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Eagle got the win against Ridgevue on Thursday by a conclusive 11-3. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Sophia Giles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Eagle let Addy Giles and Emry Woods run wild. Giles went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI, while Woods went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Taryn Peterman, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Eagle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Eagle's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Owyhee, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Owyhee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like Eagle struggles in that department as they've averaged .404. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Owyhee was able to grind out a solid win over Eagle in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-3. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
